In The Studio

April 2025

Our March exhibition was a success - very tiring but a lot of fun. The space looked amazing with everything on display, and I'm hoping to find some good photos of the exhibition to share, without me excitedly bouncing around in them!
I'm currently getting things mounted and framed ready for my 10th-18th May exhibition. Still lots to do! I've been making a series of birds which I love, so I'm excited for them to be on display together.
January 2025
There's a lot going on at the moment, making new work to display at an exhibition in March 2025.
For anyone who enjoys free motion embroidery, you'll know that the back of a piece of work is just as lovely to see as the front! So here's the back of a floral doodle embroidery:

I love how bold the stitching is against the texture of the material. The 'right side' is heavily printed using several screen printing techniques, which I've stitched over.
Meanwhile, my mind is full of butterflies in preparation for the exhibition, like these ones below, free motion stitched onto a gorgeous green-gold silk - the camera doesn't do the colour any justice!
