About

Original Textile Art Inspired by Flowers, Wildlife and the Natural World
Drawing is the basis of all of my art, even when it's stitched
I'm a textile artist, focusing on drawing and mixed media. The intention behind my art is to convey how beautiful and complex the seemingly simple things in life are, when we take time to slow down and notice them. I create nature-inspired textile art, wildlife art, botanical art and mixed media artwork inspired by flowers, insects, birds, animals and the vibrant colours of sunsets, combining patterns in fun and interesting ways.
My work celebrates the beauty, detail and complexity of the natural world, encouraging people to slow down, look closely and appreciate the extraordinary patterns, textures and colours that surround us every day.

Textile Artist Working in Embroidery, Watercolour and Pencil Drawing
As a UK textile artist and mixed media artist, I work across a range of traditional and contemporary techniques, including:
- Free-motion embroidery
- Textile art and fabric collage
- Mixed media artwork
- Detailed pencil drawing
- Watercolour painting
- Acrylic painting
- Charcoal drawing
- Botanical and wildlife illustration
My pencil drawings and watercolours focus on fine detail, texture and observation, while my textile art combines stitched surfaces using both hand embroidery and free-motion embroidery, layered fabrics, colour, pattern, textures and embellishment to create richly detailed original pieces.
Wildlife and Botanical Art Created Through Observation.
Many of my artworks begin outdoors, observing wildlife in its natural habitat. Bees, butterflies, birds and other garden wildlife regularly feature in my work.
I grow pollinator-friendly flowers in my garden to attract insects and wildlife, spending time sketching from life and taking photos and videos, before developing ideas further in the studio. These observations help me capture the individuality, movement and character of each subject.
Whether creating embroidered bee art, butterfly textile art, bird artwork or botanical studies, I aim to reflect both the beauty and diversity of the natural world.

Sustainable Textile Art
Sustainability is an important part of my creative practice.
Where possible, I use:
- Repurposed fabrics
- Recycled threads
- Reclaimed embellishments
- Environmentally conscious materials
By incorporating recycled and reused materials, I create original textile artwork with a lower environmental impact, while giving beautiful materials a new life. We are surrounded by textiles and embellishments that can be used in fun and creative ways!
